Unlike the kitchen and the living room, a bedroom is a private retreat for rest, relaxation and, of course, a bit of fun! And it is the place in your home that really reflects your tastes, choices and what you are as a person. Decorating a small bedroom is as fun as working with one that is blessed with ample space. When done well, small bedroom can be intimate settings that match the rooms bigger blow for blow in elegance and ergonomics! All you need to do is work with some fundamental design principles that will help these small spaces cover a more open, airy and spacious look. Here are 10 tips that are easy to work and will help usher in this relaxing and modern atmosphere.

Create a space free of clutter

This is advice that would have started with your mom crying out for you since you were five years old and even after all these years, it's absolutely true. There is simply no substitute for a clean, cable-free look of a room. But in the case of decorating a small bedroom, it is much more than make the bed and fold the sheets. (Although, that helps too!) The small rooms seem more visually appealing when things are organized and kept to a minimum.

Do not overwhelm your nightstand or dresser with a large screen. Keep things hidden very well and also eliminate unnecessary decoration rarely used. When it comes to small rooms with contemporary style, less is actually more!
Simple color combinations

Visual harmony is the most important in decorating a small room factor. the form factor is defined space and gives you a feeling that had just entered a room that is much bigger than it actually is. Using too many colors create visual fragmentation and can decrease significantly the look of your bedroom. In simple terms, do not use more than three colors. A neutral shade for the background and two accent colors at most, should do the trick.

Use accent colors in multiple areas using fabric decor and subtle additions. This creates a symmetry that is attractive, while enhancing the refreshing aura of the room. Pristine white or cool gray walls, along with some beautiful cushions works every time.

Multilayer lighting

As always, the lighting is indeed the key that opens the way to an elegant atmosphere bedroom, fresh and fabulous. While large bedrooms might be able to sneak in a dimly lit corner somewhere, just not going to fly if compact bedroom. A room design that incorporates large windows to help usher in a broad daylight is a great start. For those who can not take advantage of natural light, a variety of artificial lighting is the best alternative.

Combine recessed lighting with smart and charming pendant lights sconces to provide uniform illumination. Since then, we are talking about decorating small bedrooms, stay away from floor lamps and table lamps occupying much needed space.

Intelligent storage options

We talked about the creation of an open and the key to achieving this look is by adding storage units and fashionable style. Shelves on the wall and a beautiful wardrobe, obviously, are the basics. You can go beyond this by being creative. Woven wicker baskets are an addition that we love, and that not only offer ample storage space, but also adds contrasting texture of a modern home. The soft and natural your bedroom instantly much more relaxing fibers. Bedroom benches, ottomans and side table that have been hidden storage units are also useful.

Legs decor without Slums

When a teacher of mid-century modern classics give advice, it is worth listening. Series creator tulip elegant furniture, Eero Saarinen design summarized as an effort "to clear up the slum of legs at home in the United States." It is an approach that works superbly in the case of the creation of a bedroom in the conscious space. Try to eliminate anything that takes too much legroom. Hanging lights, wall lights, floating shelves and elegant decor that can be connected directly to the wall help in maximizing low footprint in your bedroom.

Scale and Proportion Decoration

This is an Achilles heel for most of us, since we often tend to decorate in stages. If you have a small space, then use small decorative items that fit in the scale of things. Do not combine a relatively small bed with a very large table and a huge closet, just because they look good in the shop! Try to avoid impulse buying next time you visit the furniture store.

Go Vertical!

The space does not mean only the square footage of your bedroom. Use all the space offered by the walls of a careful manner. You do not want to completely surround with shelves and accessories. That could quickly turn into the bedroom and small in a claustrophobic environment. However, when picking storage units, use shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. This saves up to legroom and can be hidden away items you use less frequently on the upper shelves.

Creating a Focal Point

A small room in no way means no clear and distinct focus. By contrast, a tiny space can really benefit much more from a single focal point. Since we are talking of rooms, the bed is the natural choice. It is best to keep things that way and not disturb the scheme for trying to get into an entertainment unit large. In any case, we suggest not have a television at all in the bedroom. But for those who still want one, always choose a flat-screen model that is mounted on the wall and disappears easily into the background when not in use.

Add mirrors and reflective surfaces

Glass is an elegant addition to the compact rooms. Its transparent nature means you can create partitions and shelves without actually taking away the visual space. Glass adds a spacious feeling to the room where other materials are hard to match. Add a beautiful mirror for the bedroom and not only makes the space more spacious, it also helps spread light around better.

Eye of an editor!

That sounds like a trait that is quite easy to acquire, and yet, in reality, is a much harder job than you think. We are always tempted to add more and changing seasonal trends, patterns and newly arrived decoration luxury furniture, bedroom only fills. It is best not to go overboard with every new trend that hits the market. Get rid of everything that is not love. (That's actually a good rule for the bedroom, even beyond the active material!) Do not feel obligated to keep any stuff around that really are not used.

Enjoy the convenience of a small bedroom. Having some lovely bedroom is much better than having a large bedroom with generic design and impersonal style. Give these tips to decorate a shot and you'll realize it's not always about the size of the room, but what you do with what really matters!
